Survey: Consumers happier with banks, health insurers this year

Tom Henderson - Consumers are happier with their banks, credit unions and health insurance than they were a year ago, according to the annual finance and insurance report issued Tuesday by the University of Michigan's American Consumer Satisfaction Index. Eighty percent of consumers are satisfied with their banks, up from 76 percent a year ago, while 82 percent of credit union customers are satisfied, up from 81 percent. Satisfaction among those with health insurance rose 4.3 percent to a level of 72.
